Video Review: Rhythmic Phrasing Masterclass by Dani Rabin (JTC Guitar)

June 19, 2023 by azsamadlessons Leave a Comment

I’ve been a fan of the band Marbin for years and really enjoy both the music and thoughts from Danny Markovitch and Dani Rabin from Marbin.

Last year, the booklet, “How to Stop Sucking: The Incomplete Guide to Improving Your Musical Abilities by Danny Markovitch of Marbin” was one of my favorite things I read.

Imagine how excited I was when I saw the announcement that Dani Rabin had just released his first masterclass for JamTrackCentral. The fact that it was about rhythmic phrasing was even better!

This is a unique masterclass because of the topic and because it’s taught by a masterful player.

My favorite part of the masterclass are the 4 Lesson Videos that explain the concepts. These are some of the most important part of the masterclass. After watching that, everything else in the masterclass made even more sense and it helped my playing almost immediately.

Of course, I will need to shed more to get the concepts internalized but I’m happy that it’s something that immediately had a positive impact to my playing.

In addition to that you get a wealth of material!

What do you get in this masterclass?

  • Study Guide
  • Introduction Video
  • 4 Lesson Videos
  • 14 Exercise Videos
  • 14 Exercise Audio Files
  • 14 Lick Videos
  • 14 Lick Audio Files
  • 2 Solo Videos
  • 2 Solo Audio Files
  • 2 Solo Backings
  • 4 Backings
  • Tab / Notation
  • Guitar Pro Files

The lines and solos give you tons to shed and also can open up the door to even more melodic ideas.

In the words of Dani, “you don’t shred the guitar, you shred the mind!”

And this masterclass is full of ideas that can help you shred the mind (and fingers of course).

In conclusion, this is a powerful masterclass that can change your improvisation for the better. I recommend this strongly for any guitarist who feels that they need more work on the rhythmic side of their playing.

Pros: This masterclass is one of the best explanations of how to use rhythm to create better single note solos.
Cons: None.
TLDR: If you enjoy how Dani plays OR if you feel that your rhythms are weak, then this masterclass might be able to help you improve the rhythmic aspect of your playing.

[Submissions for Review Consideration]

  • Are you an author who wrote a jazz, guitar or music book?
  • Have you created a DVD or an online video course or subscription based website?
  • Would you like me to review your book/course?

Please send me a message at azsamad2 at gmail.com with:

For courses: a link to the course/video/product + access info etc.
For books: a link to the book (Dropbox) or PDF attachment (if it’s small) for review consideration.

Depending on whether I dig the book/course, I’ll let you know if I do plan to review it!

I cannot guarantee a review for every submission & if I’m not too into it, I may opt not to review it. I mean, it’s better to get a good review that for me to write a bad review just because it’s not a match for the kind of stuff I dig right? :p

NOTE: All reviews reflect my honest personal opinion so be aware that I will point out both cool Pros and Cons that I see in the work. You dig?
