As a touring guitarist, session musician and educator, Corey Congilio has performed with David Lee Murphy, Lucie Silvas, Radney Foster, Cassadee Pope, Derek St. Holmes, Danielle Bradberry and others. Since 2010, Corey has created 15 instructional guitar courses. Currently, he is based in Nashville, Tennessee where he works as a session guitarist and online educator. His website, workingclassguitar.com is the hub for his various educational offerings.
This is Corey Congilio’s first interactive eBook covering a very specific topic, which are arpeggios for blues guitar playing.
The focus is the strength of this book! Throughout the 30 pages, Corey teaches where these arpeggios come from, how to play the various fingerings and ends with 5 etudes to solidify your mastery of the materials.
This book reminds me a bit of Don Mock’s excellent book Artful Arpeggios, except that it focuses only on dominant 7th arpeggio fingerings.
There’s a nice mix of music theory, practical fingering diagrams, thoughtful explanations and practice tips to help the aspiring blues guitarist have a more confident command of these arpeggios. In addition to the book, you also get videos demonstrating the musical examples and also backing tracks to help you during your practice sessions.
All in all, this is a good book for someone who wants to go beyond playing pentatonic licks and start including licks and melodies that outline the chord changes more clearly. These arpeggios are a helpful foundation to getting lines that sound like the playing of guitarists such as T-Bone Walker, Gatemouth Brown and Robben Ford. If that sounds like you, this might be a good investment in your blues guitar education.
Pros: Good concise book, well arranged and delivers on the promise!
Cons: Might feel too basic if you’re a more advanced player.
TLDR: For beginner and intermediate blues guitarists, this can be a useful book to help improve your command of dominant 7th arpeggios all over the guitar neck.

I cannot guarantee a review for every submission & if I’m not too into it, I may opt not to review it. I mean, it’s better to get a good review that for me to write a bad review just because it’s not a match for the kind of stuff I dig right? :p
NOTE: All reviews reflect my honest personal opinion so be aware that I will point out both cool Pros and Cons that I see in the work. You dig?
