I recently read Investpreneur by Kristin Cripps. This 198-page book is a collection of her tips and advice to for anyone getting into real estate.
It’s a mix of personal stories and practical real world advice. Kristin writes in a very encouraging manner. Throughout the book, she reassures how real estate is a great way to build wealth. She also discusses importance of saving. Kristin explains how that can open up the opportunity for owning your first property.
Kristin shares how she worked three jobs. She shared her experience buying and selling a townhouse. I love stories like this because it makes it real and not just a textbook guide to the topic. It actually has lessons from the author with anecdotal stories that drive the point.
One of her tips that stood out for me was to not ‘Taj Mahal’ the property. This means not to overdecorate or renovate the place. This avoids the danger of it becoming too fancy for the neighbourhood.
Another piece of advice that struck a chord was to understand what kind of investor you want to be. Some might want to earn from long term tenants, others might want to make their place into an Airbnb & some might want to flip the property. Everything will need different considerations for location & investment (money, time and research).
All this is very new to me but it gave me a good introduction to this topic. It was fun to read & the flow was smooth. Some books can be a challenge to finish. This is not one of those. Fun read, great insights, good investment (pun intended).
In conclusion, this is a good way to get acquainted with real estate investing.
Pros: An introduction to what’s important in the world of real estate investing.
Cons: Might be overwhelming to digest. Some suggestions might be more applicable to the United States and Canada.
TLDR: If you’re new to real real investing, do consider this book for an overview before diving into this area.
I received a review copy of this book from Leaders Press. Thank you April & Alinka.

I cannot guarantee a review for every submission & if I’m not too into it, I may opt not to review it. I mean, it’s better to get a good review that for me to write a bad review just because it’s not a match for the kind of stuff I dig right? :p
NOTE: All reviews reflect my honest personal opinion so be aware that I will point out both cool Pros and Cons that I see in the work. You dig?
