Beginner Guitar: 7 Tips To Ease Your Barre Chords

September 10, 2015 by azsamadlessons 2 Comments

For the most benefit, watch the video as I demonstrate these tips in more detail.

For a quick recap of tips, they are listed here:

Tip #1: Press only the strings you need
Tip #2: Press right behind the frets
Tip #3: When playing a 5-string barre chord, don’t barre the 6th string
Tip #4: Sometimes you don’t even need a barre chord!
Tip #5: Be aware of the angle of your barre finger
Tip #6: Look out where your thumb is!
Tip #7: Use the minimum amount of energy needed to barre!

Hope this helps you to play barre chords easier. Remember to be patient and take breaks to rest your fingers. Barre chords are tough!

Hi Az Samad here! I am disclosing that I’ve included certain products and links to those products on this site that I will earn an affiliate commission for any purchases you make.

Whenever possible, I've tried to include a mention that the link is an affiliate link but since the site is so big by now, I'm including this note so so that you are aware.

That being said, as I always mentions - all reviews reflect my honest opinion of the book/course/product. My goal is not to recommend everything to everyone but to give you as much information about my experience with it so that you have a better idea whether it might be for you (or not).
