Music Review: Three Of A Kind by Ben Eunson

July 27, 2019 by azsamadlessons Leave a Comment

“Three of a Kind” is the third single by Ben Eunson from his upcoming album “ACE”, available on August 23 on Ocean Road Sounds.

The track features Ben Eunson (Guitars), Alexander Claffy (Bass) and Kush Abadey (Drums). The track is produced by Ben Eunson & Michael Perez-Cisneros.

The opening section begins with a nice 70s vibe lyrical phrase with (acoustic?) strumming supporting at the back. Going into the theme we are brought into a very flowing 70s fusion vibe. Sustained chords greet the guitar solo that flows to begin the improvisation section. Lots of nice tasteful long held notes from Ben as he gradually builds up the solo.

Then, as the chord progression moves, a very hope-tinged (I’m not sure how to better describe this) section comes in. Some Jeff Beck vibes with this nice section as the lines develop more. Before you know it, he goes back into the restatement of the theme. Ben does some tasteful lines as the theme is played underneath.

As with the previous two singles, Ben has clearly outlined his musical sensibilities with great music that comes in compact durations. There’s no extended jams in the singles so far, just good music played well within a pop-friendly duration.

TLDR: For fans of melodic, tasteful rock based jazz (fusion), check out this new single from Ben Eunson!

Rating: 4.5/5
