New Music
I released three EPs so far in 2026:
Instrumental acoustic guitar: sehayat dalam sedetik

Instrumental and experimental improvised electric guitar: sebelum ke galeri
My goal is to compose, record and produce more original music on a regular basis, exploring my different musical interests from a creative perspective.
Performing
I have been performing as a solo guitarist (fingerstyle guitar & jazz guitar), in a video game music meets jazz project called the VGM Trio and also every once in a while as the guitarist for the Julian Chan Jazz Orchestra. My most recent performance was for the Royal Selangor Jazz Festival 2026 where I played a solo jazz guitar set and also as part of the Julian Chan Jazz Orchestra.
Workshops, Clinics and Talks
I have been enjoying being a moderator for music and especially guitar events. I was the host for Tash Wolf Showcase Experience at Uranus Studios by Martian Backline x JL in June 2026 and the MC for Nick Johnston Guitar Clinic at Swee Lee Flagship, Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May 2026.
I also have conducted 3 workshops: Music in Nature, Stories in Sound (both at The Forest Learning Centre at Perdana Botanical Gardens) and Stories & Sound workshop (SOUTHEAST ASIAN CHOREOLAB 2026, 13-21 June 2026 at Rimbun Dahan). This is a new format of workshops that I hope to present in other nature and wellness events in the future.
Consulting
My 1-on-1 consulting clients have included professional musicians & music college professors from the United States. I was appointed as a member of the Industry Advisory Panel for the Institute of Music, UCSI University for four years from 2022 to 2025.

Writing
I write an (almost) daily e-newsletter called Surat Muzik in Malay. You can sign-up for that free newsletter here.
I write course, book & music reviews here on this website. I am currently gradually trying to review as many of the books and courses I already have in my library. The goal is to document good courses, books and music that are not as popular but are worth checking out.
I also write reviews of the latest guitar & music courses (and CDs) on this site & accept submissions from publisher, record labels and independent artists. Most of it are from international acts but some are from Malaysia as well.
From 2024-2025 I completed a project of writing 100 poems in Malay on the theme of music & the life of a working musician. If all goes well, the print book of the first 50 poems (and additional stories) should be out this year. So far I’ve performed these poems for Readings at Seksan (2024) and for the Klang River Festival (2025).
I am also currently working on a new academic paper for this year’s Ipoh Music Symposium.
Content Creation
I have a love-hate relationship with social media & the internet. Some days I love it more, some day less. Basically though, I am fascinated with SEO, content creation formats, memes, email marketing, copywriting structures, storytelling & worldbuilding — how it relates to creatives in general & musicians specifically.
My first 1-on-1 client, Malaysian jazz pianist Tay Cher Siang and I created a 12-part Instagram Reels video series was released weekly on his Instagram account every Wednesday noon. Other past projects have included #RiffingWithEzanee (a rock guitar lesson series), #GrooviBersamaRuvi (tips from professional musician Ruviyamin Ramlan) and #LuquesTechTips (from Luques Xannial).
In 2024, I collaborated with brands & companies including Harmony Guitars, Lava Music, Enya Music, Sudio, Tyrone Guitar, LBS Music World, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2025, I did a 7-Part Interview Series with Manuel Gardner Fernandes in collaboration with Bentley Music and Ibanez.
In 2026, so far I collaborated with PX Music Gears, MELONARE and BETA THREE Global.
I am currently a Yamaha Music Malaysia Guitar Ambassador and NUX Malaysia endorser.
I’m open to partnering with music brands, venues, event organizers and businesses that are interested in creative content creation targeted to the Malaysian music community, especially guitarists.
I have an adjunct role at International College of Music, my alma mater here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From early November 2024 to November 2025, I was the new Digital Marketing Specialist for the college. Since December, I’ve been the Social Media Specialist, with a revised job scope since the college is closing in the end of August 2026.
Nature
I enjoy taking walks and saying hi to cats everywhere.
