The thing about Joshua Lisec is that he is on point.
From creating a meme-worthy personal brand on Twitter and hypnotizing people into loving his works, Joshua is a unique character.
His book, So Good They Call You a Fake breaks down his system, way of thinking and every bit of logic that comes with writing your own book & creating related products around it.
Joshua’s book not only teaches what to do, but it an example of how he does what he teaches. His launch campaign for the book was a delight to watch as it unfolded in real time. Everything he’s doing right now on Twitter is a real time case study of his concepts in motion.
I love seeing the attention he’s getting now for this book & how he leverages any attention for it.
In short, I’ve been following and learning from Joshua for years now… and every time I manage to apply what he teaches, I grow each time.
With this book, Joshua teaches you how to document what you already do for your clients into a book that can get more attention for your work. The end goal is to enable you to be more famous, more successful and use your book as a way to get in front of more opportunities.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably read other books that teach you how to write, publish and promote your own book. However, I can safely say that Joshua covers some ideas here that I’ve not seen explained in quite the same way.
This isn’t a shortcut, this is a map. And… with maps, it only works if you respect it and follow the directions.
This book is probably the best gateway into his ideas & if you use it (as I plan to), it might be one of the most important books you buy this year. His Genius-System Design alone is worth the price of admission of the book. This is the good stuff.
Pros: Great book, delivers what it promises.
Cons: None.
TLDR: If you already do cool things but have a problem getting clients, more fans, work and money, this book might be helpful to translate your genius into something that people can understand.

[Submissions for Review Consideration]
- Are you an author who wrote a jazz, guitar or music book?
- Have you created a DVD or an online video course or subscription based website?
- Would you like me to review your book/course?
Please send me a message at azsamad2 at gmail.com with:
For courses: a link to the course/video/product + access info etc.
For books: a link to the book (Dropbox) or PDF attachment (if it’s small) for review consideration.
Depending on whether I dig the book/course, I’ll let you know if I do plan to review it!
I cannot guarantee a review for every submission & if I’m not too into it, I may opt not to review it. I mean, it’s better to get a good review that for me to write a bad review just because it’s not a match for the kind of stuff I dig right? :p
NOTE: All reviews reflect my honest personal opinion so be aware that I will point out both cool Pros and Cons that I see in the work. You dig?
